Hello Engineering CLUB!
Exciting news! I have applied to a NASA Program for Community Colleges involving Arduino projects (http://casgcmcri.org/) and they accepted the application! That means that we are part of a great Program for one year. I and my co-advisor of the Program, Luke Sathrum, will organize an orientation and an application process, followed by a selection of 14 students interested in the Project. I look forward to informing you more about this opportunity later on. NO ACTION FROM YOU IS REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. I WILL INFORM YOU LATER ON ABOUT THE APPLICATION PROCESS. More updates to come. Thanks! DrM

Hello,
An interesting idea for a CLUB project. This is for those intersted in learning old school tools that were a fundamental aprt of Engineering in the past and now are only in museums. This one is a Slide Rule. http://www.oughtred.org/flyers/OS-ISRM_SlideRuleSeminar.pdf_ The Slide rule has been the way Engineers did calculations before electronic calculators. We have a Silde Rule and I would invite you to learn how to use it and make a seminar to teach other students about it. I will propose more of this type of tech-archeology projects as soon as I find more ideas. Hello,
I am so enthusiastic about the Engineering Club. Look at the mailing list of this email, we are almost 20 people! Please visit the website that I made to facilitate the information flow http://engineeringbuttecollege.weebly.com/engineering-club.html Notice that our first General Club meeting is scheduled for the second Friday of February, which is February 12, 12:00-13:00. We'll meet by my office MC 249, but I am working on getting a large room for hosting our large meeting. Please start submitting projects by using the project form that I have posted on the weebly website. On our first General Meeting we will elect the officials and figure out our goals, challenges, resources. Be ready to take responsibility and run for one of the positions needed by the Club, such as treasurer, secretary, vice-president, president, and more roles that might be useful. If you want to start a project BEFORE the General Meeting, please inform the whole CLUB using this mailing list and I will try to facilitate the process. However I will not promise anything in terms of resources until we have figured out the structure of the CLUB. Come ready with your proposal on the General Meeting and your group of work ready, we;ll try to make time for you to present your idea to the rest of the CLUB! Looking forward to seeing you soon@! DrM Hello,
We have had the first meeting of the Engineering Club and it was great! We have 8 people committed to the club and more will join to our second meeting tomorrow at 1:00-2:00 in MC 249. I have started to collect some documents that will hopefully help the building process of the club. Please visit the following link http://engineeringbuttecollege.weebly.com/engineering-club.html I invite all members to submit proposals of projects using the form found in the website. See you tomorrow at the meeting! DrM |
